Meet Arla Jackman

Arla Jackman has the firm belief that life should be wonderfully natural. With a world so full of chemicals at every turn, people need a refuge from the constant intrusion. “There’s a beautiful balance to science and nature,” says Arla, who loves educating herself on the benefits of health products. She is happy to share her knowledge for those who are interested.

Initially based out of her home, Teddy Boy Country Wares & Decor was incorporated in 2013. The name Teddy Boy was derived from her late brother, Ted, and serves as a fond memory of his legacy. Even the heritage building that the shop resides in is a nostalgic reminder of Arla’s childhood. Formally a corner store, Arla and her brothers frequently rode their bikes there.

Fort St. John will always be home for Arla. It’s the people that keep her there. She describes the community as one of the friendliest towns she’s even been to. The tides are changing and new cultures bring in a wonderful mix of exciting experiences. She loves hearing the stories of residents and tourists alike. “Fort St. John has a feeling. Experience the beauty of the people,” exclaims Arla.
