Meet Andy Ackerman
Andy Ackerman spent his entire career working for the Ministry of Environment, which eventually landed him in Fort St. John. After clocking out for the last time in 2007, he knew his work was not done. Andy created his consulting business as a means to compliment a semi-retired lifestyle, and with steadily increasing demand over the years, he finds himself quite busy.
Thankfully for Andy, facilitating workshops is not only his livelihood, it’s also a passion. When the calls do slow down, this entrepreneur enjoys to spend some time with his family, including his 11 grandchildren! He also likes to pick up an iron for a good old game of golf. Fort St. John’s golfing amenities are on par with some of the best in the province (no pun intended), and many other sporting activities garner a robust following with the locals as well.
Andy loves pretty much everything about his vibrant town. From the people, to the inclusive community and diverse representation of cultures, Fort St. John has a lot to offer for just about anyone. Andy finds residents to be extremely giving, and in turn, the instructor also likes to give back. He is readily involved in many local non-profit groups and sits on a number of boards. “Fort St. John has a lot of community spirit,” beams Andy. “There are lots of great amenities, and we’re surrounded by incredible outdoor recreation.”
