Meet Gerald & Marie Bernardin
Gerald and Marie enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. They also like being outside walking, hiking and riding their Canam Spyder. They both love taking photos and exploring the unique diversity of flora and fauna of Fort St. John’s Fish Creek forest trails. They love their hometown, “Fort St. John has grown into a city but still has that small town feel,” said Gerald.
Knowing there was a great future for small business in Fort St. John, Gerald and Marie started a home based business, Bernardin’s Best Salsa, in 2014. “We’ve enjoyed making a business out of something we both love, being able to set our own hours and we really appreciate being able to get to know our repeat customers,” said Gerald.
They love the Farmer’s Market which runs from May through to December. “It’s awesome for getting fresh produce and a wide variety of home-made specialty items,” said Gerald.
Original. Unique. Delicious.
Bernardin’s Best Salsas takes great care to produce high-quality homemade salsas, pepper jellies and relishes. Their salsas come in eight delicious flavours with options for mild, medium, and hot spiciness guaranteed to tantalize your taste buds. Gerald and Marie happily offer exciting salsa flavours such as Southwest, Beer, Curry, Canadian, Mole and Sweet Thai.
Bernardin’s Best Salsas produces three flavours of hot pepper jellies and three seasonal relishes too. They have an excellent variety of flavours that are popular customer favourites and they are always open to trying out new flavours too.
Gerald and Marie attend trade shows and community events with their canned products for sale and they are happy to let customers sample their wide variety of salsas, pepper jellies and relishes. These entrepreneurs are always pleased when trying a sample leads to the discovery of a new favourite.
